The exhibition center in Palma de Mallorca has been the venue for the 62th edition of Eurobijoux & Accessories from the 5th to the 8th of May, organised by SEBIME, Spanish Association of Fashion Jewellery Manufacturers, with the collaboration of ICEX – Instituto de Comercio Exterior (Foreign Trade Institute), the Balearic Island’s government and Menorca’s Island Council.
This spring fair has offered four days dedicated to the exhibition, commercial deals, the launching of new collections for the coming season Autumn 2010 – Winter 2011 as well as some parallel events such as the Designer and European Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Manufacturer Awards ceremony.
89 European manufacturers have participated, 63 of which were Spanish (37 from the Balearics, 11 from Barcelona, 6 from Valencia, 3 from Madrid, 2 from Alicante, 2 from La Coruña, 1 from Córdoba, and 1 from Zaragoza) whilst the rest came from European countries such as France (8) Italy (7), Germany (6), Greece (2), Czech Republic (2) and Holland (1). The fair resulted in an increase of 63% in visitors compared to 2009, although these numbers don’t correspond with the final commercial results due mainly to the worldwide economical crisis.
